Beloved Baba, fifty years ago,
You let your precious body be broken
And gave the life force of your blood on this spot
so that all of us--America and Mankind
Might grow in spiritual maturity and move closer to You…

At the 2002 Sahavas commemorating the fifty-year anniversary of Baba's accident, Murshida Connor of Sufism Reoriented spoke the following as part of a prayer to Beloved Baba at the exact moment when the accident had occurred fifty years before:
